A Rambus Rimm consists of a number of memory components that are attached to a PCB (Printed Circuit Board). The memory components are normally covered by a heat spreader (normally silver or blue).

The RDRAM's 32 bank architecture supports up to 4 simultaneous transactions per device and are used in a wide range of applications where high bandwidth and low latency is required. They have two cut-outs along the row of gold pins on the bottom of the module.
