My memory will not fit the machine?
Some machines are given the same name but are produced using different motherboards. This means that the manufacturers can use the same chassis but advance the technology inside the machine. So you may find that on some of your listings we list the model name but have (DDR2) or (DDR3) as an example after the model name. This is to differentiate between the two type of memory the manufacturer has utilised for this model. Unfortunately the different types of memory are not backwards compatible. To ensure that the incorrect technology is not put into the wrong board there is a cut out along the gold row of pins that ensures that only the correct memory upgrade can be installed into the slot.
So what now?
Do not worry. If you find that the memory you have ordered does not fit your machine then please use our returns form to contact our support team and they will arrange for the memory to be exchanged for you.
